a good driving instructor

Our mission at Leinster Driving Campus is to make you a safe driver for life. We do this by ensuring we provide the very highest standards of in-car instruction at all times using first class equipment and training aids. All Leinster Driving Campus instructors are RSA Approved Driving Instructors (ADI) (each achieving 85% or higher) and use dual controlled vehicles.

The qualities of a good driving instructor.

To be an effective driving instructor you need to be more than just a good driver. With today's busy roads the job of a driving instructor is extremely demanding.

  • Responsibility

We always have the safety and well being of our pupils in mind especially when needed most in the early stage of their driving lessons.

  • Patience

Displaying a positive attitude to all our learner drivers is one of the main reasons Leinster Driving Campus is referred on by our customers. We are aware of the fact that everyone had to learn to drive at some stage and that some may find it more difficult than others.

  • Confidence

We always ensure that the learner driver is comfortable with the car controls on the campus before selecting a suitable route for their first on road lesson, matching a route to each individual's ability. Avoiding situations a pupil is not ready for will build up your skills and confidence.

  • Communication

Communicating effectively with a wide variety of pupils is a key part of our job. It is essential to understand the level of understanding of each individual, to give practical demonstrations or use visual aids for complicated procedures when necessary.

Padraic (and his business partner Brian) set up Leinster Driving Campus in August 2008.
He is one of the very few instructors in Ireland who received 100% in his R.S.A. test on 'Instructional Ability'. Padraic has a FETAC Level 6 Certificate in Car Driving Instruction.

It's important that learning to drive is made as easy and as relaxing as possible for the learner. Excellent communication skills of an A.D.I. are essential in enabling students to gain a full understanding of all aspects of driving in order to master what is now considered a life skill. Learning to drive is not just about passing your driving test; it's about being a safe driver for life.

We built Leinster Driving Campus with learner drivers and nervous drivers in mind. It’s a controlled environment allowing students to get familiar with their car controls without the added distraction of other road users. Once the student feels confident enough we continue tuition on the main roads. We have found that people progress to a higher standard of driving much quicker using this approach, saving themselves time and money in the long run.
